Prior to establishing Snow Sports PR in 2010, for 25 years John Brice operated an award-winning PR firm, Brice & Associates, which he started after working as a print journalist, first at the
Los Angeles Times and NBC San Diego as an intern from the University of California San Diego. After working at the La Jolla Light newspaper and freelancing for many publications, including the San Diego Business Journal, San Diego Daily Transcript, The San Diego Evening Tribune, John became the Director of Sales & Marketing for the San Diego Padres' ticketing company, Teleseat.

The now famous fish taco: Among John’s first clients was the then two-location
Rubio’s “Home of the Fish Taco.” For nearly 20 years John worked closely with founder Ralph Rubio, a pioneer in serving the fish taco north of the Mexican border. PR successes very much made the fish taco ubiquitous on American menus today. Other early clients included The Comedy Store (La Jolla, CA); la Discoteca OH! LASER CLUB! (Tijuana, México); concert promoter Bill Silva Presents (BSP) and Elite Security & Staffing. Successfully publicizing concerts ranging from B.B. King to Willy Nelson to The Clash to Eric Clapton, John helped BSP become a leading Southern California entertainment business, with venues including the legendary Hollywood Bowl. John worked with Elite co-founders John and Gus Kontopuls from the start-up phase to Elite being hired by the Padres, the Chargers and more as Elite grew to be a national success, serving NFL, MLB and many other iconic venues and events.

For many Hyatts (H), Marriotts (MAR), Hiltons (HLT) and other hotels, resorts, venues and tourism programs, John planned and implemented PR campaigns, along the way earning awards including "
Best PR” from Visit California and Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International. Notably, John’s work for the Borrego Springs Chamber of Commerce & La Casa Del Zorro Desert Resort won over the New York City Convention & Visitors Bureau’s submission and placed second only to Rio de Janeiro Convention & Visitors Bureau. For La Casa Del Zorro, Brice & Associates was the agency of record for 17 years. For Southern California's largest hotel, the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego, Brice & Associates was the agency of record for over 15 years, including working with the late Shane McConkey's base jump from the top of the 40-story Hyatt.
